Wide vs tight interdental brush
“Best interdental brush for wide gaps” usually means the brush that fills the space you already have, not the biggest brush in the catalog. Shoal Wide Brush is GUM Proxabrush Go-Betweens Wide, 10 count, with a travel cap. Tamarack Between is GUM Proxabrush Go-Betweens Tight, 10 count, sold as a 4-pack. Both names come from the listing titles.
Slide the brush in. If the wire bends or the gum blanches, that size is too big. The wide card is not on the HSA shelf, and neither is the tight card. Start with the space, not the pack price
The tight card costs more because the listing is four packs, not because tight is a better brush. A wide brush in a tight contact can hurt. A tight brush in a wide gap may not touch both teeth.
Questions people ask before they buy
Which interdental brush is best for wide gaps?
Use the wide listing if the brush enters the gap without forcing the wire. If it does not fit, try the tight size. This page does not rank them.
Why is the tight pack more expensive?
The tight card is a 4-pack of 10. The wide card is one pack of 10. The shelf prices are $19.99 and $5.66. That is pack size, not a quality score.
Are these HSA eligible?
Neither card is on the HSA shelf. Do not assume a plan will reimburse an interdental brush because a different product on the shelf is labeled eligible.
